Kōrero mō te tūranga – About the Role
As Regional Manager Forestry Service Advice, you will be responsible for leading a team of forestry advice staff who provide advice to landowners and the forestry sector to maximise the benefit of our forests and support sustainable land use management.
You and your team will be working with landowners and organisations like regional councils to support capability building in others, provide advice on the benefits of trees, increase regulatory awareness with various stakeholders, and provide quality information on TUR-NZFS’s work programmes.
Your key responsibilities for this role will include:
Mōu – About You
As the preferred candidate, you will be a registered Forest Adviser (or qualified to register) under the Forests Amendment Act, be confident giving unbiased and neutral forest advice, and have a strong understanding of Government policy and regulatory processes.
You will also have experience leading the delivery of projects and establishing & maintaining collaborative relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Importantly, you will have the ability to communicate complex issues and provide innovative solutions with excellent communication and negotiation skills

You’ll be joining a dynamic and diverse team who partner with tangata whenua, landowners and the forestry and wood processing sectors to ensure our people and forests are fit for now, fit for the future.
