As Court Security Officers we take pride in serving our community by providing a safe and secure environment for people to gain access to the justice system.
We interact, assist and build relationships with diverse groups of people every day, ensuring our courts operate without fear of intimidation or violence. Our Court Security Officers are a valued and an important part of the Court Justice system. We will ensure you have the training needed to operate as a Court Security Officer under the Court Security Act 1999 at induction training.

This is a 40 hour a week role with some paid overtime available when extra cover is required. You may also be required to work a minimum 4-hour shift on Saturdays.

Working in the Nelson District Court would be your home base, however when operational needs necessitate, there is the requirement to also deploy to other local Courts. This could be Westport, Greymouth, Blenheim, or Kaikoura. Associated travel costs are met by the Ministry.

Salary range for this role is: $56,729 to $78,441. Appointing salary will be dependant on skills and experience.
