It is an exciting time to get involved with this fairly complex business where the majority of the operations are located in Northland, mainly Marsden Point and with a smaller office in New Market, Auckland.
This contract role is to to provide cover with the transition of a new Head of HR joining the business in a couple of months, and will report to the Chief People Officer.
The ideal HR practitioner will be capable of handling any HR or ER issue that arises, and be able to provide good HR advice to the leadership team, who are very careful to protect the positive culture the business cherishes, having been through a period of transformational change in the previous year.
Key foci is to provide operational support to leaders and staff on best practices and functional HR expertise and advice to the business.
The challenges of the role relate to the need to effectively communicate and negotiate with people at all levels of the organisation, and to act as a coach to managers.
Ideally you will have a genuine can-do attitude, willing to roll up your sleeves to help with any HR matters, be it higher level, operational or administrative.
If not already living in Northland, you will be happy to commute up there on a weekly basis to stay in accommodation provided, so that you can be on site at least three to four days per week.

About you
You will be at ease building relationships, credibility and trust quickly and have at least 5 -7 years experience in generalist HR roles within fairly complex medium to large sized organisations.
You will have experience coaching managers. Building and cultivating relationships and developing others will be natural to you.
You will be able to point to leadership strengths such as projecting a positive worth ethic inspiring others to extend themselves, showing urgency to plan, take action, and clearly articulate goals and apply tactics to execute strategy.
