Job Description
Your Opportunity:
Our Water team in Wellington is fast growing and we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with experience in water, wastewater, and/or sludge systems to join us in delivering exciting projects across New Zealand, with a specific focus on the Wellington Region. In this role, you would contribute to the design of various projects, including large municipal wastewater & water treatment plants, commercial onsite treatment systems, community treatment plants, and industrial trade waste treatment systems.
As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, this opportunity would see you preparing concept and detailed mechanical engineering designs, producing technical and commercial specifications, drawings, and schedules on a range of projects.
With mentoring from our Senior and Principal Engineers, you would also work in close partnership with the client and contractors through design phases and into construction monitoring.
Your contribution will help to continue to grow our presence in the Wellington Region, building client relationships, as well as improve the quality of water and wastewater treatment in Aotearoa through the projects we deliver.
This role will be pivotal in further developing our existing team. It’s a fantastic opportunity to progress your technical and management skills through your project work and build on-site experience with great prospects for career progression as the business continues to grow.

About You
Your passion for delivering high quality water projects for our communities, and the ability and energy to work in a team environment is highly desirable. Your well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to influence and guide key stakeholders will set you up for success from the start of your career at Mott MacDonald.
The ideal candidate for this role should have a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering with proven experience in water/wastewater/industrial treatment projects.
Additionally, they should exhibit a proactive approach to design, a drive for innovation to add value, excellent communication skills, and a strong team-orientated ethos.
