Nana Gogo Toybrary is a toy library in Rochester, MN, where children 5 and under can borrow and exchange toys as often as they like! At the Toybrary, we believe in exposing children to the widest variety of toys from all developmental areas while helping keep their parents’ wallets lighter and the planet cleaner.

Nana Gogo Toybrary is seeking passionate, fun-loving, detail-oriented and energetic members to join our team! This is a part-time role for a self-motivated person with a friendly and welcoming demeanor, who would be enthusiastic about fostering the values of the toy library and a sense of community. The ideal candidate should have experience managing multiple children, be excited about guiding a child’s natural curiosity and, most importantly, believe in our mission. Diving in at this stage offers the opportunity for growing with our small business and becoming an essential part of our future plans.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Toybrary Daily Operations:

o Assisting with toy cataloging, inventory, cleaning, and maintenance.

o Engage in energetic & positive customer experiences, especially helping customers with toy exploration, selection, and exchanges.

o Desk duties, including answering questions and providing information to customers about pricing, services, and events.

o Maintaining the cleanliness & organization of our space, including the play space, bathrooms, and outdoor areas.

· Events, Classes & Workshops:

o Address parent/ caregiver questions about each event.

o Assist instructors to manage classes, where necessary, including set-up and clean-up.

o Maintain a safe environment for the children, at all times.

o Help ideate new classes/ events and run events when necessary.

· Birthday Party & Room Rentals:

o Point person for Saturday parties hosted at the Toybrary.

o Create a fun & memorable experience for guests, while helping make things easy for the host family.

o Help maintain the space and organize supplies for parties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Demonstrates a kind and friendly personality

· Comfortable working in a busy environment

· Shows strong attention to detail and ability to multitask

· Ability to engage effortlessly with young children and caregivers of young ones

· 2+ years experience in a child-care setting preferable

· Ability to build relationships with customers, parents, and community partners

· Commitment to creating a warm and positive environment

· Confident managing a group of 5 to 8 children – no more than 6:1 or 14:2

· Resourcefulness during planning and execution of activities

· Available on school holidays, breaks, and weekends

· State and Federal background clearances are required (after hire is approved)

· CPR and First Aid Certified preferred (we can pay for certification)

· Must be able to lift at least 40 lbs occasionally

BENEFITS & DETAILS:

· Hourly pay is based on experience ($14)

· 15-20 hours per week, with room to grow

· Availability for Saturday shift given priority

· Available to start ASAP
