Clinical Nurse Manager 2

Paediatric Programme

The primary function of the post is to be the central point of contact for all nursing operational areas during core

working hours and out of hours periods. The post holder will collaborate with the CNM 1 and Clinical House

Managers to ensure that the clinical site is operating, safely, effectively and at a standard of excellence and will

provide an expert level of operational management and leadership.

He/ She will efficiently deploy staff in collaboration with clinical house managers and encourage a culture of

openness and participation through effective communication. During core hours he/she will have the overarching

support of the Assistant Directors of Nursing and/or the Director of Nursing.

REQUIREMENTS:

The candidate must possess the following on the latest date for receiving completed application forms for the office:

• Registration on the General Division or Children’s Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland

(NMBI).

• Minimum of five years’ post registration experience with at least two years management experience

essential.

• Relevant post registration qualification desirable, with a willingness to complete same.

• Post Registration qualification in Rehabilitation; Spinal Injury; or Neurosurgical or Neuro-disability Nursing is

advantageous.

• Management course desirable.

• Experience working in a paediatric setting advantageous.

• Demonstrate evidence of continuous professional development.

• Evidence of proven clinical and professional ability, leadership, communication, and organisational skills.

• Computer skills essential.

The appointment is full-time, permanent and in a pensionable capacity. Remuneration is in accordance with the

salary scale approved by the Department of Health.
