National Vision Hiring for Lead Maintenance Tech – Optical Manufacturing at Plano, Texas Full Time

Expert Maintenance Technician responsible for servicing and maintaining equipment located in the lab, performing in the role of a team Lead. * Maintains Preventative Maintenance log on all equipment * Maintains weekly PM checklists of all maintenance duties, machine checklists * Communicates as needed to fix various machines * Services and maintains CNC Edgers: cleaning daily, fixing broken or out of calibration parts, recalibrate * Services and maintains CNC Generators: weekly greasing, lube checks; turn cutters and calibrate when needed * Maintains Edger by changing cutters and ensuring filters are clean * Maintains Blocker: keep filters, wax drawers clean; perform weekly checks for prism and axis * Uses ideas to fabricate systems and machines to improve production or quality * Follow company’s Lock Out/Tag Out procedures, suggest safety measures * Suggests procedure changes to improve department efficiency * Leads associates by ensuring they are staying on task and are in the proper place for optimal workflow * Train associates according to direction from the Maintenance Supervisor * Performs other tasks and lead functions as assigned * Associate’s Degree/Technical School Degree or equivalent work experience * 3-5 years experience in the maintenance, diagnosis and repair of complex equipment and industrial equipment (Electronics, CNC type equipment preferred) * Must have proven troubleshooting skills on complex equipment * Experience working with PLC’s, programming * Ability to read and troubleshoot electrical/electronic diagrams required * Optical manufacturing experience helpful * Must be able to read and write English National Vision offers a competitive benefits package.
