Native Instruments Looking for Associate Software Engineer at Boston, MA Full Time

You will join our customer-focused product maintenance team. This team is a highly collaborative group that is passionate about delivering high-quality product updates to our users and improving our internal development processes. The team is responsible for maintaining, testing and updating mixing, mastering, repair and editing audio products as well as the internal tools that help build them. We work closely with product development teams, product managers, and our Customer Care team to ensure we deliver updates that will benefit our users. Qualified applicants should have knowledge and demonstrable experience developing software in C++ as well as a relentless drive to learn and grow.

What You’ll Do

• You will maintain and upgrade existing audio products using C++, Python, and Web Technologies.
• You will troubleshoot, diagnose and root cause issues reported by customers in the field, and provide workarounds, hot fixes and long term solutions with the support of senior engineers
• You will collaborate with Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, and Product Managers to deliver high quality software to our customers.
• You will contribute to improvements and refactoring of our UI framework and Digital Signal Processing (DSP) libraries, developing efficient, reusable, and reliable software packages
• You will deepen your technical expertise and proficiency in developing high quality and optimized software with the support of senior engineers
• You will write clean, maintainable, and efficient code that adheres to best practices

What You’ll Need

• You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• You are experienced in developing with modern C++
• You have strong engineering skills, designs for quality, expert problem solver, and analytical skills
• You are comfortable with design patterns, software frameworks, performance optimization, and test-driven development
• You have a thirst for knowledge and a commitment to staying updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software engineering
• You are a skilled communicator, both verbally and in writing,
• Your are a team player and enjoy working collaboratively with other engineers, QA, Product Managers, UX Designers, Sound Designers and Customer Care Agents.
