Here’s an awesome opportunity to join a great team, collectively responsible for strategic financial planning for Council and the organisation, as well as maintaining oversight of Councill’s finances, ensuring we meet our financial KPIs and achieve statutory compliance.

About this role | Kō tēnei tūranga mahi

The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Coordinating and delivering the financial aspects of the Council’s Annual Report
• Assisting with fixed financial processes such as month-end and year-end processes
• Managing taxation processes, including preparing, filing and paying GST, FBT and income tax returns for all registered entities
• Preparing monthly and quarterly reports for the Senior Leadership team and Council
• Assisting with the Treasury function
• Providing 2nd sign-off for transactions such as Payroll, Payables, Banking

Using a business partner model, the team also offers accounting, analytical and modelling support to the organisation to improve decision making and financial accountability, as well as strengthen the financial literacy of our budget managers.

About you | Ko ngā pūmanawa ōu

• You’re an experienced CA-qualified Accountant, with relevant experience in Local Government or complex, medium-large organisations.
• You have n up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards, well-honed communication and relationship management skills, strong numeric reasoning, excellent attention to detail and time management skills
• You’re a genuine team player who works collaboratively with your teammates and stakeholders across the organisation

This is a permanent role, with options for either part or full time hours with a starting salary range: $98,900 – $110,000 (full-time equivalent).
