Marketing Director

The Managing Director we are looking for will be experienced, knowledgeable and someone who understands the ins and outs of marketing strategies, analysis, campaign execution and staff management, all while keeping tight control over the bottom line.
About the business and the role:
Monkeytoe Group is a huge NZ success story, they are an Australasian company, headquartered in South Taranaki. They are highly specialised and they lead the Australasian market in their niche work. Monkeytoe have two manufacturing facilities; one in Hawera NZ, and the other in Victoria Australia with branches in many locations across NZ. Monkeytoe focuses on the designing, supplying and installation of aluminium structures, which are generally assembled using standard components but custom configurations. The structures they work with include roof top HVAC platforms, permanent stair towers, mezzanine floors, custom access solutions and their products are installed across New Zealand and Australia.
Their clients include architects and builders and include the NZ Refinery in Whangarei through to the Aluminum Smelter in Bluff. Monkeytoe are renowned for their innovation, professionalism and perfection and have a real passion for what they do.
Monkeytoe’ s winning aspiration is to be the most trusted Australasian brand for simplifying their customers’ complex access and HVAC mounting challenges. To do this, they need to expand awareness throughout Australasia of their distinctive capabilities and need to continue to build the Monkeytoe brand. In this newly created role and in line with Monkeytoe’s growth, you will be reporting to their CEO and will have direct responsibility for managing and promoting Monkeytoe’s brand to assist in achieving their company’s growth and financial outcomes. Your role will be a big part of this process to ensure innovative processes are in place to successfully and proactively sell themselves.
This role primarily involves the strategy planning and direction of marketing at Monkeytoe, the management of outsourced marketing resources to complete necessary work, and the management of the in-house creation of sales resources/marketing material across both their New Zealand & Australian markets as well as leading and inspiring other in-house marketing team members.
The role will support their management team with insightful and informative analysis to support key business decisions. The following points outline the key purposes of the position.
· Review effectiveness of marketing initiatives and advertising to ensure generation of required leads.
· Leading key initiatives in finance that support overall strategic goals.
· Leadership of the marketing function to meet KPIs.
· Mentoring and development of marketing team employees
· Active engagement with customers, MD/CEO and sales team to ensure products and services offered are needed and valued by current and future customers.
· Ownership of the external brand of the company and overall customer experience
· Provide insight into market direction and trends to inform product/service mix.
· Drive new product/service innovation.
· Work collaboratively with the sales team
You will join a capable and supportive management team who are focussed on growth and success in NZ and assisting in driving further growth and expansion into the Australian market. Your team management experience will be paramount as well as your strong leadership capabilities.
You will have a relevant marketing qualification or appropriate experience and a passion for continually learning and developing.
