General Description
Niagara County Community College has a need for a part time Drafting Instructor to teach courses in the Drafting department within the Business and STEM division. This position will be responsible for teaching and advising students throughout the academic year who are enrolled in the program. PT instructors will also be responsible for attending meetings as requested.
Classes are held in person on the NCCC’s main campus in Sanborn, NY. Applicants must be able to attend in-person meetings, professional development, and other obligations on the Sanborn campus.
Remuneration for persons teaching at least 3 credits in a semester: $884 per lecture hour/$792 per lab hour.
In order to build and maintain an active pool of qualified candidates to meet our present and future needs for this position, Niagara County Community College will accept applications on a continuous basis. Openings may or may not exist at this time. Applications are evaluated on an as-needed basis, and candidates will be contacted when the department has an opening. Typical Work Activities
Teach course on campus.
Track attendance as needed
Complete census reports
Report on student learning outcomes at the end of the semester
Report grades at the conclusion of the semester
Attend and participate in meetings as necessary
Essential Functions
Ability to navigate relationships with diverse populations. Ability to speak in front of groups of people. Ability to actively involve and engage students in their own learning. Must be able to effectively communicate with students, co-workers, supervisors and the campus and external community. Must be able to develop, prepare, and present information. Must able to operate computers. Must be able to physically perform the duties of the position.
Required Qualifications
Associates degree in Drafting
Two years of experience in Drafting
Desirable Qualifications
Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering Technology
5 years of experience particularly in AutoCAD and processing piping and pressure vessel design and drafting
License(s)/Certifications
