Our team builds customer facing features for some of the most highly visited media
websites in Australia, as well as the content management systems and services. We’re using a brand new, entirely cloud-first modern tech stack, with a fully automated, CI/CD DevOps environment. We craft world-class high performance, high availability, web applications in small autonomous Agile squads.

As an Engineer in the Video Team, you will be building services that scale to large audiences and you will be managing the key shared components of our modern cloud-based technology stack. Looking for a Software Engineer who is passionate about large scale applications & services and cares about code quality, uptime, performance, continuous deployment, design principles, and test-driven development.

You will be working in the Video team responsible for overseeing back-office applications, APIs, video streaming workflows and infrastructure, with many exciting initiatives in our pipeline.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Building applications and services that scale to large audiences – NodeJS
• Automate the building of infrastructure in an environment running on AWS providing a Continuous Integration operational environment. Using different technologies all the way from edge through the various caching and API layers
• Ensure that all systems comply with company security policies
• Available (on-call) as part of a rotating support roster – with generous rates.

• Good team player, who takes ownership of ideas and solutions through to delivery
• Analyse failures and identify root causes in a collaborative environment – Own and action solutions
• Excels at problem-solving.
• Experience working with Cloud Services (ideally AWS)
• Recent coding experience in Node.js, ES6 server-side development
• Keen to automate, writing Infrastructure as code (IaC)
• Familiar with CI/CD tools and process
• Exposure to Docker or Kubernetes
• Strong scripting and coding skills – Node.js, Golang, Python and shell experience is a big advantage
• Contribute to the agile/scrum and test-driven engineering culture with creative problem-solving, collaborative mind
