Position Description

The Medical Records Director is responsible for directing, planning, coordinating, and administering the facilities medical records program.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Assure that the facility has a system in place that meets all state/federal regulations that govern nursing facility operations in regards to the electronic health record.
• Process admissions and ensure that patient chart is accurate.
• Transcribe and upload physician orders.
• Manage Master Patient Index.
• Audit electronic health records for accuracy.
• Gather and send chart information to insurances for clinical review requests.
• Comply with all medical records requests in a timely manner.
• Oversee patient appointments and transportations.
• Assure that HIPAA compliance is upheld and patient records are secure at all times.
• Complies with laws and regulations applicable to position and acts in accordance with Hyatt Family Facilities policies and procedures.
• Employee shall assist with other duties as assigned.
• Follow facility dress and hygiene policies.
• Follows all Safety rules and regulations and reports violations immediately.
• Knows and follows the Resident Bill of Rights.
• Reports all suspected violation of company’s HIPAA policies or procedures to Unit Manager or DON.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree from accredited college
• Minimum of 2 years experience in the medical records department
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a long-term care facility

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 – $25.00 per hour

• Associate (Preferred)
