Working within the Vice Chancellors Office this role will support the continued growth of Northumbria London Campus, Northumbria Pathway College and our wider Education Strategy.
Northumbria London Campus is committed to the development and delivery of multi-disciplinary teaching and research in the areas of business, design, computing, and project management. With over 4000 students and a continued growth strategy, the campus provision is underpinned by a series of cross cutting themes which characterise our provision; this includes multidisciplinary innovation and analytics embedded into all of our programmes. Furthermore, in order to deliver strong cohort identity and student success we embed educational analytic approaches, digital pedagogy, personal tutoring and personalised scaffolded academic and professional skills in all programmes. Similarly, Northumbria Pathway College offers foundation and pre masters level programmes designed to accelerate international students into undergraduate and postgraduate programmes at Northumbria campuses.
Northumbria London Campus and Northumbria Pathway College also operate a multiple intake and multi modal delivery model, attracting a diverse range of learners, placing significant emphasis upon a distinctive student journey. This provision is delivered in partnership with QA Higher Education, a private HE provider.
As such the role holder will be responsible for the development, organisation and delivery of curriculum content of foundation, undergraduate and postgraduate programmes with a specific emphasis upon student journey, embedding opportunities for multi-disciplinary innovation, digital pedagogy and educational analytics. They will also develop and champion innovative approaches to personal tutoring, academic skills development and employability in the curriculum. The role holder will also contribute to research activities, delivering appropriate research outputs, income generation and impact as agreed by the Campus Research team.
This post is advertised across our Assistant Professor and Lecturer roles (role descriptions are attached). Colleagues appointed into our Lecturer grade are usually early career academics who are supported through their probationary period to develop their Academic profile. Upon completion of probation objectives these colleagues are automatically moved into the Assistant Professor role.
