Position Overview:
In this role you will provide routine day-to-day operations and administrative support for NRG’s corporate philanthropic efforts, including monitoring the budget, process improvement, controls for specialized program and grant software and other functions enabling the team to meet objectives in an effective and efficient manner. The Corporate Responsibility Analyst will collaborate with internal stakeholders to increase awareness of, and participation in, the company’s programs.
This position provides support to the team and manager around NRG’s philanthropic efforts in our core pillars of Choice and Education, Community, Resilience and Sustainability and Well-being. This is a fast-paced environment which requires a high degree of professionalism, organization, and attention to detail, coupled with the ability to multitask and prioritize. Responsibilities:
Compiles a variety of operating, financial and statistical information as needed to respond to management requests. Coordinates work with other departments.
Assists in communication of best practices, policies, procedures and initiatives to support operations. Helps to facilitate process improvement by engaging appropriate resources in issue identification and resolution.
Assists in developing project plans and costs to achieve defined objectives. Provide periodic updates relative to project performance and resources.
Coordinates budget preparation. Researches and collects input from multiple internal and external resources.
Analyzes monthly department budget reports to maintain controls. Prepares commentary and explanation of variances for management review.
Support the operations of the employee matching gift program, including timely research of requests and issue management.
Support the Corporate Philanthropy team in development and execution of the company’s long-term CSR strategy.
Proactively research social responsibility and impact trends and issues and provide concise summaries for management.
Support the development of responses from external stakeholders regarding philanthropy and impact-related inquiries including corresponding reports.
Develop and lead small-scale initiatives to increase awareness of, and participation in, philanthropic and impact initiatives.
Help monitor Corporate Philanthropy mailbox to ensure timely responses.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferably in Business Management, Communications, Public Administration, Government, Environmental Science, or related field.
Working knowledge and experience in CSR practices and policies
2 years of corporate social responsibility, sustainability, business strategy and/or related fields.
2 years of experience in budgeting, finance, or business analytics.
Must be conversant in corporate responsibility, social issues, DEI, and best practices, including in areas of philanthropy, environmental sustainability, community affairs, and volunteerism.

Excellent organizational and project management skills and the ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously.
Ability to work under pressure and balance competing priorities and deadlines.
Self-motivated and driven, with a demonstrable positive attitude.
Advanced user of the Microsoft Office Suite.
Working Conditions:
Primarily in an office environment.
Some overtime is required as special projects arise.
Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities.
