Description and Responsibilities:
Open Sky is seeking a great communicator and a highly organized individual to serve in the full-time position of Human Resources Administrative Specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain experience in the Human Resources field supporting multiple HR functions including recruitment, administration, benefits, employee engagement/relations, and staff development, and is in a pathway role to becoming an HR Generalist. Open Sky has a large and robust HR team of over 20 staff supporting an agency of 1,200 spread across most of Central Massachusetts. The ideal candidate is someone who is passionate about being in a key role with influence over many staff who are working to better the lives of others. They thrive in a fast-paced environment, are good at thinking critically, and are great at showing empathy when dealing with an employee navigating a complex issue. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. Schedule is Monday-Friday 9am-5pm fully in-office at our Worcester headquarters. Some flexibility is possible, but this position is a part of required minimum in-person coverage during business hours.
- Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
- Primarily responsible for personnel file auditing, upkeep, and outreach to necessary parties to obtain up to date documentation.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and security of private and confidential information.
- Has a key role in onboarding process for new employees to the organization.
- Collaborate with and provide support to departments within the HR function.
- Write professional letters, guides, documents, and assist with creating presentations.
- Provide front desk coverage as backup to office manager as needed.
Qualifications:
Must Have:
- High school diploma/GED/HiSET or equivalent required. Alternative forms of education may be considered if verifiable.
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Office computer skills with Windows and Microsoft Office.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality with highly sensitive information.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Being open to new possibilities, and having an always-learning mindset.
Nice to Have:
- Desire to grow within the HR field, and desire to be a part of an agency with a strong mission and values.
- Comfort with a variety of office databases and common office equipment.
