Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will assist in defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, debugging or designing of software applications or operating systems. Provide technical leadership to other software developers. Specify, design and implement modest changes to existing software architecture to meet changing needs.
Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

Working as part of a cutting edge SaaS Service Management Tools Engineering team, you will be tasked with the mission to continually deliver innovative tooling solutions utilized by internal Oracle SaaS teams to support the quickly growing Oracle SaaS Portfolio. You will be part of an innovative team continually raising the bar and leading the charge to shift the greater SaaS organization to adopt procedural best practices and deliver tools to enable their overall success. The Service Management Tools Engineering team is responsible for continually evaluating “best of breed” products and solutions to develop innovative toolchains targeting continual ‘run the business’ efficiency and user experience improvement for the overall SaaS organization. As a key team member, you will play a key role in the cultural DevOps transformation through the delivery of processes and tools created.

Responsibilities
Establish and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to gather business requirements and translate into deliverable technical requirements
Develop and implement technical requirements for a large suite of internal tools
Participate and champion the organization’s DevOps cultural transition
Identify opportunities to improve/enhance user experience and tooling performance and communicate solution proposals
Participate in a 24×7 team responsible for service availability for mission critical toolsets (Includes equal team participation in rotational on-call schedule)
Provide tier 2 application support for mission critical tools
Execute standardized Incident Management process with a focus on service remediation and stakeholder transparency
Skillset and Knowledge Required Technical Skills
Scripting skills utilizing Bash, Python, and Java
Integration development utilizing standard REST APIs
GIT source control experience
Jira workflow and UI configuration experience
Linux command line proficiencies
Supplementary Technical Skills
Coding skills utilizing PHP
Jira system administration experience
Awareness of Kubernetes clusters distributed across a complex network environment
Awareness of tuning system performance in a Kubernetes cluster environment
Awareness of automated deployments using Github, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Cloud based integration architecture design skills utilizing “High Availability” strategies
Required Procedural Skills
Awareness with common Incident, Problem, and Change Management process delivery
Awareness and experience with a Agile Project Management delivery
Required Experience
Engineering degree in Computer Science or equivalent
5+ years of experience supporting mission critical applications
Required Personal Attributes
Sense of product ownership to proactively identify inconsistencies or unexpected behaviors within subject area
Strong tenacity for problem solving to utilize all resources to efficiently identify root cause
Passion for development of technical requirements to meet business needs
Strong understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives
Solid verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively propose/communicate new ideas and solutions to technical and business level challenges
Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
Experience working in a global team-oriented and collaborative environment
