PRIMARY PURPOSE
Primary responsibility is to enhance asset value through the optimization of individual well performance, participation in BU collaboration activities, generation of AFE’s for capital/expense workovers, optimization of artificial lift/stimulation practices, and provide operations engineering support for the field operations team.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
- Surveillance: Lead or assist in well reviews, nodal analysis, identify opportunities for lift revisions and well enhancements, and conduct periodic and ad hoc reviews
- Work with process engineers and operations personnel to optimize field production and reduce expenses
- Ensure ramp-up, drawdown and flow assurance guidelines are developed, and procedures are followed
- Coordinate scheduling of offshore projects and activities
- Review and support job plans for routine well interventions
- Provide marketing support for production forecasting and communication of production changes
- Supports the regulatory teams with filings and with occasional direct communication to regulatory agencies
- Active in communities of practice (PEPAT, Communications Meetings)
- Advise younger Engineers on decision making processes
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND COMPENTENCIES
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering or similar Engineering degree
Experience: 5+ years of production engineering experience
- 3+ years of artificial lift experience; 5+ years preferred
- 3+ years in subsurface operations processes; 5+ years preferred
Skills & Competencies:
- Understands and demonstrates sound working knowledge of basic and some advanced technical principles, has applied them to solve routine problems.
- Well intervention options and execution
- Knowledge of artificial lift (Gas Lift, ESP, etc.)
- Surveillance – Determining well potential and identifying well opportunities
- Understanding of reading and understanding well logs
- Understanding components of detailed well files and histories
- Ability to lead and direct small ad hoc teams
- Project management
- Direct experience in one or more geographic areas/reservoirs/depletion drive mechanisms as well as working knowledge of others.
- Direct experience in one core business area or life cycle of the field (E/D/P) and working knowledge of others.
- Understands and demonstrates sound working knowledge of basic and some advanced technical principles, has applied them to solve routine problems
- Understanding of economic programs (PEEP, Aries, etc.)
- Good Presentation skills especially to management
- Able to work in a multi-discipline team environment
- Good understanding of field operations including facilities, processes, workover, and completion operations
