We are committed to providing an inclusive and barrier-free work environment, starting with the hiring process. If you need to be accommodated during any phase of the evaluation process, please use the Contact information below to request specialized accommodation. All information received in relation to accommodation will be kept confidential.
Assessment accommodation
When you apply to this selection process, you are not applying for a specific job, but to an inventory for future vacancies. As positions become available, applicants who meet the qualifications may be contacted for further assessment.
Tips for applicants:
We can’t make any assumptions about your experience. Simply saying you have the required qualifications or listing your current duties is not enough. Instead, provide concrete and detailed examples that clearly explain where, when, and how you gained the experience. We’ll only use your résumé as a secondary source of information. If you don’t clearly demonstrate you have the required experience, we won’t ask for additional information and you may be screened out.
If at any point, you are struggling with your application or have questions about what we are asking for, please reach out to one of the contacts listed at the bottom of this poster.
Since management may decide to view job applications at any time, it is best to submit your application as soon as possible.
Communication for this process will be sent via email. Applicants MUST check their email accounts frequently as there may be a deadline for responses. It is the responsibility of the candidate to ensure accurate contact information is provided and updated as required. Candidates who apply to this selection process should include an email address that accepts email from unknown users (some email systems block these types of email). Please note that we will have to consider that you are no longer interested in participating in the selection process and that you have withdrawn your candidacy should you not provide us with an up-to-date email address or respond to our communications.
Shared living accommodation may be available if required (limited spaces available).
**The application process for government jobs is unique. To support you in preparing your application and answer any questions you may have, we will be hosting workshops on January 26th at 7:00pm (AST) and February 15th at 4:00pm (AST). To register for one of the workshops, please email Aaron Shenkman at [email protected] Workshops will be held digitally with video and call-in options. Attendance is encouraged.**

Some of these positions may be funded by the Youth Employment Skills Strategy (YESS), which aims to create temporary employment opportunities for youths from 15-30 years of age who are facing one or more barriers to employment. Barriers may be any part of your past or present experience that makes it difficult to obtain or maintain meaningful employment. Some of the positions advertised in this poster are funded by the YESS program, though we encourage any person who is interested to apply.
Preference may be given to qualified candidates who self-identify as Indigenous, visible minority group members or persons with disabilities, as well as youth facing barriers to employment. As such, we encourage you to self-identify in your application.
Given that the positions are located in Nova Scotia, we encourage youth from the African Nova-Scotian and Mi’kmaq communities to apply and self-identify.
