POSITION SUMMARY: The Resource Development Assistant is responsible for recording and
reporting on contributions raised, facilitating donor stewardship, helping to identify and cultivate
donors, applying for sponsorships, and handling most donor communications. The RDA plays a
central role in planning and administering fundraising events, appeals, and campaigns. The RDA
reports to the Resource Development Director (RDD). This position requires knowledge of
industry best practices, attention to detail, and excellence in administrative support to the RDD
and staff. This is both a public facing and heavily administrative position.
● Donor stewardship (cultivating, thanking, reporting: verbally and in writing)
● Asking/appeals (writing/designing, list generation, editing, mail merges, mail prep, mailing)
● Event planning, sponsorship coordination, committee meetings, task list execution
● Data entry, record keeping, reporting, thank you correspondence, recognition
o DonorPerfect, Constant Contact, others as needed
o Manage PBC industry profiles such as GuideStar/Candid, Charity Navigator
● Communications
o Email newsletter (monthly) and regular announcements/posts (Constant Contact)
o Facebook and Instagram and/or other social media: typically, daily support to all Resource
Development staff with research, content development, generation, program liaison,
designing, coordinating program staff content such as videos, photos, cutlines.
Scheduling, monitoring, response
o Impact Report/Donor stewardship pieces
o Developing and maintaining donor materials as requested (examples: new donor
welcome messages, annual fundraising plan, thank you letters, grant writing, board
reports, fundraising/training materials, flyers)
o Website maintenance and upkeep (WordPress)
o Develop other marketing materials as requested by RDD and program staff
● Outreach
o Conduct facility tours
o Attend/speak to groups, advocate on behalf of agency
o Assist in recruiting sponsors, new donors, committee, and in-kind donations
Support the Resource Development Director in overall efforts to reach fundraising goals
● Bachelor’s Degree in related field or 2 years relevant experience
● Ability to pass an Oregon Department of Human Services background check
● Possession of a valid Oregon Driver’s License and insurability to drive company or personal
vehicle
● Ability to relate to persons with intellectual and developmental disabilities and advocate for
their needs
● The physical effort typically applied in this job may include Keying/Typing, Repetitive Data Entry
Driving, Standing, Sitting, Walking and Public Speaking.
● Frequent intense and/or exacting mental and visual focus is required.
● Work conditions will typically be in an office setting in a climate-controlled and regulated
environment. Special events and/or donor functions may require working outdoors. Some
travel/errands to support fundraising activities will be required.
● The Resource Development Assistant must be available as directed by the Resource
Development Director to address business needs during regular business hours, 8:30 AM –
5:00 PM.
● The RDA will occasionally work outside of normal business hours to support
fundraising/special events.
● There is never a good reason to risk your own personal safety or that of a co-worker, client, or
business partner.
● The position of Resource Development Assistant is a non-exempt position
● Non-exempt positions are eligible for overtime pay
● The position of Resource Development Assistant is a Category (3) Administrative Support
Worker.
