JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Ancillary Services, a division of Housing and Food Services, is seeking candidates for the position of Conference Services and Commons Desk Manager.
This position is responsible for the following:
Meet with conference services clients, inputting groups into system, maintaining calendar of activity, managing rosters and room assignments, and coordinating check-in event for each group
Development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures, including training and oversight
Working with the five commons desk operations during shift
Providing support and guidance to full-time and student employees
Ensuring all employees are performing customer service responsibilities for residential students, conference and camps participants, and visitors, which may include a variety of duties (for example, processing United States Postal Service (USPS) mail and packages; mail forwarding; issuing and tracking residence hall room keys per guidelines and maintaining key inventory; submitting work orders for core changes; issuing temporary ID cards; processing payment for various transactions using register system and maintaining cash drawer; signing out loaner keys, recreational equipment, cleaning supplies, etc.)
Communicating policies and procedures to customers and employees
Operating various equipment and computer systems
Conducting rounds of commons desk operations
Resolving issues
Typical hours are on-site, Monday – Friday 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M. with additional evening and weekend work required as necessary. Summer schedule may vary based on conference activity. Positions requires rotation of on-call.
Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree or higher in hospitality or business-related discipline or higher plus one year of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver’s license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required.
