The Senior Human Resources Information System (HRIS) Manager is
responsible for leading a team of HRIS analysts and owning the ongoing
design, deployment, and maintenance of the Workday HCM platform (Core
HCM, Absences, Time Tracking, Advanced Compensation, Talent, and
Recruiting). You will work with key business stakeholders, including the
Human Resources to solve business problems through technology while
enabling Perkins Coie to continue to grow and scale. You will be
responsible for providing strategic direction for the Workday HCM
platform and the Workday HRIS The HRIS team has recently transitioned to
the Technology organization. The Senior HRIS Manager will lead this
transition effort and the integration of the HRIS team into the
Technology organization. This position will own and develop a strategic
roadmap for Workday and related technologies, be hands-on when needed,
and be willing and able to configure business processes, conditional
rules, security roles, alerts, notifications, and reports. You will
serve as the department lead responsible for establishing and
maintaining standards for the utilization and integrity of HR data and
the overall production environment. Act as the data steward for access
to and maintenance of HR data. Establish and implement ongoing testing,
security, and analytical standards in support of upgrades, patches, and
related database maintenance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS These essential
functions are primary job duties that incumbents must be able to perform
unassisted or with some reasonable accommodation. Production Support
Provide support for HRIS including, but not limited to, researching and
resolving HRIS problems and unexpected results or process flaws; perform
scheduled maintenance activities; recommend solutions or alternative
methods to meet requirements; and thoroughly research and present for HR
Department consideration new functions and features of each product
release. Collaborate as required with HRIS provider technical support
and firm technical support in problem and issue resolution. Understand
HR business processes and effectively communicate HR business needs and
requirements to firm information technology services, vendors, and
consulting resources. Advise HR personnel regarding configuration
options, best practices, and cost-effective solutions to support
critical implementation decisions. Process Improvement Identify and
understand issues, problems and opportunities related to HR business
processes. Compare data from different sources to identify
inconsistencies and recommend improvements to business processes and
data integrity. Apply change management experience to facilitate
movement to new levels of quality. Utilize interpersonal skills when
working with various customers and peers to accomplish project goals.
Recommend process/customer service improvements, innovative solutions
and policy changes that must be approved by appropriate leadership prior
to implementation. Production Update Support Manage and assist in the
review and testing of bi-annual Workday system upgrades. Collaborate
with functional and technical staff to coordinate testing of updates.
Maintain calculated fields and reports. Document processes and results.
Project Management Work in partnership with key stakeholders to review
project intake forms, statements of work, and change management
strategies. L ad all aspects of HRIS projects, including monitoring and
identifying any project issues to mitigate risk. Within the HRIS team,
create and manage end-to-end project plans considering resource
availability. Drive successful adoption of methodologies such as
Lean/Agile to improve quality and accelerate solution delivery. Identify
dependencies and develop recommendations on how best to sequence the
work. Reports/Queries Oversee the HRIS team and assist in writing,
maintaining and supporting a variety of reports or queries utilizing
appropriate reporting tools. Assist in development of standard reports
for ongoing customer needs. Help maintain data integrity in Workday and
integrated systems by running queries and analyzing data. Assist HR
users in modifying and editing their reports as requested. Assist HR
users with data integrations to other firm systems and vendors.
Participate in activities that support the development of analytics or
dashboards for talent-based information. Training Develop user
procedures, guidelines and documentation. Develop and maintain training
materials for new users at all levels/roles – employee, manager, and HR
system user. Work with business partners to transition Workday tip
sheets and training to functional teams following new feature
implementations or upgrades. Conduct or coordinate training for new
hires on employee/self and manager roles. Conduct training for new
Workday users. People Management Manage and foster a collaborative team.
