PetDesk Looking for Backend Web Developer at Austin, TX Full Time

Groomer.io is a growing company focused on crafting premier software services for the pet grooming industry and pet parents with a focus on appointment scheduling, customer engagement, and payments. You will empower pet parents and grooming professionals by architecting, implementing, maintaining, scaling, and securing all aspects of our web services, including customer-facing web applications, various databases, and REST APIs. Collaborating with the Customer Success and Product Roadmap teams will allow you to add your creative problem-solving flare while improving the lives of pet parents and the professionals who keep pets happy and healthy.

• Design, build, deploy, and maintain testable, consistent, and performant RESTful APIs
• Create relational database schemas for performance, security, and functionality
• Work with third-party HTTP APIs and webhooks from popular CRMs, cloud services, mail providers, telecom services, and payment gateways
• Occasionally implement responsive user interface designs for the web with reactive libraries
• Display creative problem-solving skills by participating in feature development discussions

About You

• 4+ years of experience deploying Laravel PHP + MySql applications to production.
• 3+ years of experience with TDD using unit testing and mocking frameworks such as PHPUnit, Mockery, Jest, or similar
• Strong understanding of standard service patterns (REST, OAuth)
• Experience with AWS services – OpenSearch, Aurora, Elastic Beanstalk, SQS is a plus
• Some mobile application development experience is a plus to empathize with your colleagues (iOS or Android)
