Our Plunket Nurses are a pillar of our communities, they are the reassuring voices and clinical experts for māmā, pāpā and wider support networks managing the demands that come with an expanding whānau. Our pro-equity journey has resulted in a shift in how we deliver our services to provide wrap around support for our most vulnerable communities.
To deliver to our vision, our South Auckland teams are searching for registered nurses to work in Pukekohe, Papakura, Papatoetoe, Mangere, Otahuhu, Manurewa with both full time & part time positions available. Been searching for a job where your clinical skills will truly make a difference? This is the team for you.
Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity
If you’re looking for a role that moves beyond primary or hospital-based care, where you can provide ongoing support and see the impacts and outcomes of your nursing excellence, this is it. Our pro-equity journey has already inspired change, and as we move forward, we’re looking for nurses who are comfortable in the discomfort created by disrupting the norm and advocating for change while ensuring our connections are mana enhancing for all. Whether you’re working in our urban settings or if you want to be based in our rural communities, you will use more than your clinical skills, providing care through virtual means, telehealth, home visits and traditional clinics.
Many whānau in our South Auckland communities experience greater levels of deprivation, the visits we conduct are commonly working with whānau in emergency housing and multi-generational households, we’re looking for exceptional nurses who are ready to take action in order to build sustainable and responsive care plans that support holistic health. It will not be up to you alone to make the difference, we work with multiple agencies and specialists – social workers, food banks, other community groups and leverage support of our other Whānau Āwhina services to respond to the needs of our people.
He kōrero mōu | About you
We’re seeking individuals who are able to flex and be innovative to deliver tailored support for each whānau and their unique needs.
To respond to our communities, ideally you will have had experience living in or working with a high needs population with a multi-cultural population base. You will be able to demonstrate the ability in responding to and understanding the issues and impacts that health inequalities have had particularly in rural communities, Pacific families and Māori whānau.
The uniqueness of the whānau we connect with is what makes our role interesting, you will be flexible in your approach, but always with a listening ear, manākitanga in your ngākau and the ability to provide culturally safe care.
While the autonomy which comes with working on your own and home visiting will be attractive to you, your ability to work in collaboration with others will be the key to your success. Our team place our community at the centre of what we do, and you will share this value.
