We are on the hunt for an unflappable, proactive, customer-focused, energetic person to provide operational, facilities, event management, and superior administration support for a brand-new business connection and collaboration centre, located here in the Hasting’s CBD. This is a space where business members, along with visitors to the centre, come together to champion fresh ideas and nurture innovative thinking that can benefit our communities right across the Hawke’s Bay. This new role will sit in the heart of this, being the cultivator of centre activities and fostering a friendly and accessible community vibe – this is an exciting opportunity not to be missed here in the Bay.

Your scope is broad, and your responsibilities will see you sitting across the general day-to-day operational management of the centre as the ‘face of the centre’ and the first point of contact for all visitors and queries received. This role has a strong facilities management and oversight focus, including the research, development, sourcing and implementation of systems, processes and tools that support the overall member and visitor experience. You will be responsible for ensuring the facilities are well presented, properly maintained, physically secure, safe, and compliant with all appropriate regulations. It is a busy role, and nothing will be a problem for you to lend your hand to, from coordinating centre events through to keeping the kitchen supplies well stocked!

Naturally you bring exceptional planning, scheduling and negotiation skills, property related nous and pragmatic decision making to the team. It is vital that you bring an understanding of property/tenancy or contractor management processes, as well as health and safety best practice. Ideally you will bring experience with developing and implementing project plans that include relevant procurement and business case processes. You are systems savvy, can deal with ambiguity and work with pace. You will interact with people from all walks of life and enjoy a hands-on community-based role seeing others thrive from the work you do.
