Health Hawke’s Bay – Te Oranga o Te Matau-a-Maui is the region’s single Primary Health Organisation (PHO), covering a population of approximately 167,000. They aim to improve health outcomes and life expectancy across Hawke’s Bay, particularly for Māori and other underserved population groups.

As Executive Officer you will be working closely with the CEO to facilitate and coordinate the development and maintenance of the HHB Strategic Plan, Annual Plan and Ka Hikitia strategy, and governance level performance reporting of these. There is already a great deal in play here, but this role will help solidify it. Your focus will be to help ensure the delivery of effective governance processes and decision making through the provision of company secretary and governance administration support services. And you will play an important role in advising and supporting the CEO and Executive Leadership Team (ELT) with governance engagement advice, systems, processes, and documentation.

Candidates with experience and exposure at the Executive Officer or high-level Executive Assistant will be considered seriously here. But you may also have been in entities working on the fringe of management and governance teams. Either way you will have the organisational and communication skills to ensure executives and boards have the material they need to function well, and that your CEO is well supported and kept abreast of her work progress in play. You will be working closely with a really dedicated leadership team – your extra attention and support will ensure their workflows are as well managed as possible.

A strong commitment to the Te Tiriti o Waitangi is crucial here. Health Hawke’s Bay are invested in seeing the health of Hawke’s Bay flourish, with have an explicit commitment to prioritising outcomes for Māori – your relatability and commitment to this will be crucial.
