Powder Hounds Grooming Salon Hiring for FT Mon-Fri Receptionist/Dog Bather Job at Steamboat Springs, CO Full Time

Powder Hounds Grooming Salon in beautiful Steamboat Springs would like to add a Full Time Receptionist/Dog Bather to our team! You will be a Receptionist for 4 days/week and dog bather 1 day/week. Must enjoy communicating with pets and people, be proficient in computer skills (experience using a Mac is a plus), able to answer phone calls and texts, handle complex scheduling system, check customers in and out and able to handle stress in a busy environment. This is an active position for someone that is able to stand up and sit down throughout the day, go up and down stairs, handle active dogs, take dogs on potty walks, and move around throughout the salon. Positive attitude is a must!

Monday – Friday 730am-4pm but can be a bit flexible around that timing if necessary.

The Front Desk/Dog Bather Position is one that is incredibly important to our customer’s experience, the dog’s experience, and the bottom line. This position will include but is not limited to the following duties:

• Answering phone calls and texts
• Checking in and out
• Scheduling appointments
• Communicating with the clients
• Communicating with the groomers
• Assisting with putting bows and bandanas on finished dogs
• Occasionally assisting with holding a difficult dog
• Handling cash
• Shoveling in front of shop during wintertime, sweeping leaves and other debris in other seasons
• Helping to keep salon clean throughout the day and at the end of the day
• Prepping for next day’s clients (pulling cards, writing notes, writing names on board)
• Assisting with putting together client mass emails
• Scheduling social media posts
• Taking dogs on potty walks
• Assisting some clients with getting their dog down the stairs
• Washing and drying dogs
• Brushing dogs
• Trimming Toenails
• Cleaning the salon

Requirements:

• Customer Service Experience
• Punctuality
• Integrity and Honesty
• Ability and ease with using computers (Mac preferably)
• Ability to read, answer, and send text messages on a Samsung phone
• Ability to use scheduling system
• Enjoyment of people and animals
• Ability to work and clearly communicate in a team environment
• Ability to speak with clients in a professional and kind manner
• Regular and reliable attendance
• Ability to work in fast paced, sometimes high stress environment
• Ability to lift 50lbs and to be on your feet for an 8 hour day

Powder Hounds Grooming Salon works as a team in getting all tasks finished throughout the day. Groomers and Bathers have their own set of responsibilities but we all help to get things finished and cleaned up at the end of the day.
