Reporting to the Key Account Manager, Area Merchandiser (AM) will provide a comprehensive merchandising service to retail stores across Ireland. AM will ensure maximum stock and service levels are always maintained and that all stock is presented and displayed within the retail outlets in the best possible manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Present a professional image to customers and demonstrate a high degree of dedication and integrity
- Adherence to Company strategy as set out by KAM
- To carry out order and merchandising activities on a daily and weekly basis as required to ensure all service levels are maintained
- To visit all nominated retailer accounts within the area to ensure all PPG products are presented to their best effect and negotiate additional off-site displays to maximise individual store sales. Report and confirm completion of these tasks on ClientLink after each call
- To implement complete stock and ordering procedure of PPG products or advise and investigate all out of stocks as necessary, to ensure optimum store stock levels. Re-stock fixtures from recent deliveries on a weekly basis
- As primary PPG representative to develop and maintain close professional relationships with store management and departmental personnel, to maximise sales and develop the business
- To provide and maintain good in-store stock levels of PPG point of sale materials as appropriate to maximise exposure and sales
- To implement retailer range reviews on schedule in accordance with management instructions and regularly monitor all store fixtures to ensure compliance with retailer management layouts
- Develop an understanding of both PPG and retailer systems and procedures to ensure the timely and professional resolution of all store level issues and enquiries.
- To liaise with Technical Advisory department to resolve outstanding customer complaints and assist with product uplifts as necessary to ensure a speedy conclusion of issues
- Liaise with the Business Support team to bring credit claims to a speedy conclusion
- To assist with market research and special merchandising projects to further develop the business
- To be actively aware of and report to the Key Account Manager all competitor activity, new products and promotions to ensure a full understanding of the paint market
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Retail sales
- Proven results in selling and relationship building
- Self-directed/motivated
- IT literacy, time management/prioritisation skills, strong oral and written communication skills
- Full, valid clean driving licence required.
