Position: Financial Analyst
Location: Fully Remote – Preference to candidates in Los Angeles or San Diego, CA
Compensation: $65,000-$75,000 plus 5% bonus

Target Individual: We’re looking for an entry level Financial Analyst or someone with 0-3 years of experience and wants to be a part of a growing company. We need someone with a passion for finance but at least understands general accounting principals and has great communication skills as this position will be dealing with multiple departments and upper management.
Position Summary:
Company is developing cell and immunotherapy products that are designed to help strengthen each patient’s natural immune system, potentially enabling it to outsmart the disease and eliminate cancerous or infected cells.
We are seeking a high performer who has a contagious level of energy. This candidate would report directly to the Manager of Financial Planning & Analysis to support the current management reporting processes as well as to play a key role in the administration and continued development of FP&A tools. This position will provide business partner support for all departments assigned requiring regular interaction with senior level management. In addition, this position will build planning models, leverage systems to automate processes, and support in-depth financial analysis as needed.
Essential Functions:
- Support the relationship with key department heads of general and administrative areas, by helping develop forecasts and budgets on a monthly basis.
- Perform a monthly variance analysis comparing actual results to the latest approved forecast or budget as well as to assist accounting with close meeting analysis to capture all outstanding accruals.
- Maintain the monthly headcount reporting for total company, shared services, stock compensation, other interest and expense for the monthly package.
- Review procurement requests to ensure requisitions are coded properly as well as non-PO invoices, and are within budget / forecast.
- Keep forecast schedule for lease agreements, including real estate and equipment.
- Support the FP&A Manager on manufacturing forecast, including drug cost analysis
- Represent FP&A by responding to inquiries from business partners supported.
- Routinely provide communication to business partners relating to the budget, forecast, and monthly close.
- Update balance sheet projection assumptions, and cash burn assumptions while continuing to automate/ improve the consolidation process.
- Act as business partner supporting all forecast, budget, and close cycles for the functions supported.
- Consolidate forecast submissions, and report on consolidated results.
- Prepare reporting packages in support of monthly actual results, and forecasts.
- Provide assistance on special projects assigned.
- Prepare ad hoc analysis as needed.
Education & Experience
- 0-4 years of experience with a Bachelors of Science
- CPA, CMA desirable, but not required
- Prior biotech experience is desirable, but not required
- Experience with administration of Planning or Business Intelligence tools is desirable, but not required
- Experience in a manufacturing environment with an understanding of inventory is desirable, but not required
