Newly renovated Bull Run Library located in Manassas, VA is seeking two enthusiastic library assistants to serve our diverse community at the circulation desk. The newly remodeled library will feature a blended service desk model to better serve our community by offering essential library services. ABOUT THIS ROLE:
The incumbent will support Bull Run Library through:
- Service desk and phone assistance (answering and managing patron queries and needs)
- Creating and renewing library accounts
- Checking out, checking in, and reserving books and other materials
- Sorting, shelving, and locating materials
- Promoting library resources, and programming
- Aiding and troubleshooting printers, scanners, library, and MS Office applications
- Providing introductory computer and internet assistance.
MINIMUM EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
8th grade education
PREFERENCES: The successful candidate will have…
- At least 2 years customer service experience
- Cash handling experience.
- Ability to interact with others in a professional manner
- Proficient in MS Office
- Scheduling flexibility
SCHEDULE REQUIREMENTS:
This is a part-time, 20 hour a week non-exempt position. Schedule includes days, an evening and rotating weekend shifts are required. Scheduling is based on business needs and hours may change. Some shifts begin before the library opens.
Current Library Hours:
Monday-Wednesday 10am-8pm
Thursday – Saturday 10am-5pm
Sundays – 1pm-5pm
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Work may require travel to other branches within the system, therefore, a DMV check will be conducted for employees who drive while on county business.
ENTRY SALARY RANGE: $18.94 – $24.27
