Freelance Accounts Tutor – Remote Working – £30 per hour

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Tutor to join our Business Delivery team to support the on-going growth and demand.

PTS embrace modern teaching methods including blended learning. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate that they can use new learning technologies and will continue to update their skills through CPD. Ideally, the successful candidate will hold a teaching qualification, however if you are new to teaching, we are able to support your professional development to achieve this. We offer a blended teaching approach with most teaching delivered online, however the successful candidate must be prepared to also teach face-to-face in a classroom environment.

What do you need to be successful?2

To carry out teaching and assessment of work-based learners completing AAT Qualifications. To support distance learning learners to point of exam.

You will be required to carry out the following responsibilities in the context of the PTS policies and practices, particularly Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety and Data Protection, and those of any host organisations, including informing learners of their obligations.

Some of your roles and responsibilities will include:

• Delivering workshops, teaching AAT levels 2 and 3 AAT qualifications

• Support distance learners on AAT Level 3 diploma

• Supporting apprentices with portfolio building for End Point Assessment (EPA)

• Supporting Students undertaking AAT Qualification across other nonApprenticeship funding streams

• Building professional working relationships with both the Apprentice/ Student & Employer

• Liaise with the exam’s department to book exams; Liaise with the EPA Coordinator to pass Apprentices through to EPA

• Support the quality process and liaise with the Quality and Management team

• Plan and set works using Onefile, an online portfolio platform. (Onefile experience not essential however a willingness to learn how to use is essential)

• Produce lesson plans per sessions; Build a bank of varied resources including audio recorded sessions; Provide engaging and interactive teaching sessions

• Support, and motivate Students to complete in a timely and ensure deadlines are met

• Support Students and Apprentices to achieve their goals, Provide pastoral support

Essential

• Experience in an accounting role

• Qualified to at least AAT level 4 or above

• Teaching qualification or willingness to gain this qualification in the first year

• Accurate record keeping skills and good attention to detail

Desirable

• Good current level IT Skills with an aptitude to developing further

• Experience of working via remote platforms such as Teams/Zoom

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Good organisational and time management skills

• Full driving licence (desirable)

• Knowledge of EPA process
