Responsibilities
This position is in PCG’s Human Services practice area on the Aging & Disability Services (A&D) team. The A&D team works with states and providers to design, develop, refine, evaluate, and manage programs that support older adults and people with disabilities. Our mission is to help our clients improve the lives of the people they serve. The A&D team is seeking to add a skilled, team-oriented Consultant that will help us fulfill this mission.
The Consultant’s primary responsibilities will be to manage our work with clients, serve as a subject matter expert within their area of expertise, and contribute to proposals and other team sales efforts. Examples of specific responsibilities are described below. This position requires creative thinking as well as a detailed eye and excellent communications skills. Applicants must be able to demonstrate that they can excel both in a fast-paced team environment and autonomously. Experience with pre-employment transition services and/or employment for people with disabilities – with lived experience in these services – is preferred.
Specific Responsibilities:
Lead client status meetings, including the preparation of relevant materials
Manage complex projects and produce sophisticated workplans and deliverables
Develop strong relationships with clients and serve as a key contact for ongoing communications
Collect and analyze data and create reports and other written content based on that data
Master federal and state policy in your areas of experience/knowledge
Supervise and provide direction to project staff, including subcontracted staff
Conduct presentations and oral briefings for clients
Contribute to and lead proposal efforts, including managing proposal teams, writing content, and coordinating submissions
Work with the team to develop new business and growth opportunities
Other consulting responsibilities as necessary
Qualifications
Skills:

Ability to quickly recognize issues and identify solutions
Ability to accomplish tasks and goals and move multiple projects forward within a specific timeline and budget
Ability to follow, critically evaluate, and improve upon current processes
Ability to learn, understand, and apply policy
Demonstrated history of perseverance through challenges
Attention to detail and ability to analyze and manipulate large data sets with accurate results
Ability to work both in a team situation and autonomously
Ability to work with colleagues and clients in virtual videoconferencing settings, including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc.
Proficiency with Microsoft applications, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
Proficiency or expertise in other software products for communication, data analysis, surveying, etc. (preferred)
Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience
5+ years of relevant work experience in the fields of government, information technology, human services, communications, finance, or the consulting field
Project management knowledge and skills
Experience or openness to learn about working with large data sets.
Experience writing professional communications and reports.
Strong analytical skills, including the ability to analyze policy and legislation.
Ability to work both in a team situation and autonomously.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications, in particular Excel.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in high school or postsecondary transition services
Knowledge or experience engaging stakeholders or providing training
Knowledge or experience in supporting community integration for people with disabilities, including employment, person-centered planning, or home and community-based services.
Experience managing or supervising staff
Change management and communications experience
Master’s degree
Applicants from across the US will be considered. Work is currently completed virtually, but the position may eventually require up to 50% travel.

Compensation
Compensation for roles at Public Consulting Group varies depending on a wide array of factors including, but not limited to, the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. As required by applicable law, PCG provides the following reasonable range of compensation for this role: $60,000 – $80,000 . In addition, PCG provides a range of benefits for this role.
