Purdys Chocolatier is looking for an Inventory Analyst to join our Kingsway Office in Vancouver, BC! Under the direction of the Inventory & Scheduling Manager, the Inventory Analyst is responsible for inventory accuracy and inventory control processes within the organization. The Inventory Analyst has a critical role within the supply chain, ensuring that inventory levels across all product types (raw materials, packaging, bulk materials, finished goods) remain accurate so that the supply chain can make informed and accurate decisions in support of the business.
The Inventory Analyst works closely with production staff in investigating any variances, attributing root causes, and identifying corrective actions. The Inventory Analyst also works closely with the Supply Planner to ensure inventory levels are optimized to meet high levels of fill rate/service levels. As the Inventory Analyst, primary responsibilities include but are not limited to: • Auditing and developing inventory control processes to drive continuous improvement in inventory accuracy while balancing the needs of each respective department impacted • Making recommendations to the business on industry best practices for inventory control • Aiding in the development and integration of ERP & WMS software upgrades to better fulfill inventory management needs • Maintains system data to ensure reports are accurate to forecast needs and delivery requirements for purchasing and production • Makes recommendations on the strategic annual, monthly, weekly cycle count schedules • Adjusts inventory based upon thorough analysis and understanding of cycle count results • Identifies transactions that require investigations and carries out investigations to maintain inventory accuracy • Monitors work order completion and maintains planned orders to ensure MRP requirements remain accurate • Runs MRP at regular intervals • Prepares reports that indicate production progress; communicates issues proactively • Identifies and manages short-dated materials to minimize inventory obsolescence • Determines and manages appropriate safety stock levels • Analyzes changes in forecasts and communicates ramifications/risks to stakeholders • Identifying and reporting on orphaned and excess inventory to minimize inventory obsolescence • Supports physical inventory counts and performs other duties as assigned All successful candidates must possess the following: • Experience in logistics, planning, scheduling, using MRP software or relevant education in Operations Management, with a focus on planning and scheduling • Demonstrated problem solving abilities with excellent time management capabilities • Excellent communication, planning and organizational skills • Experience with inventory management in a retail-based environment (using POS) an asset • Strong data analysis skills • Ability to do root cause analysis • Ability to lead and influence others and create a teamwork environment • Expertise in Microsoft Excel (required), Power BI, Syteline (ERP), WMS • Strong knowledge of GMP’s in a food environment • Ability to work flexible shift times • Candidates working towards a professional supply chain certification will be an asset (APICS, SCMP) Purdys Chocolatier recognizes the value of skills and knowledge gained outside of formal education and paid employment.
