With its Historic New England charm of 108 guest rooms, farm to table restaurant, over 7K square feet of meeting space (as well as off site catering events), the Hanover Inn Darmouth is looking for a highly motivated and analytical individual to join our team a the Assistant Banquet Manager.
You will assist , Hire, schedule, train, and supervise all banquet staff to include conducting roll call and monthly meetings, illustrating the proper techniques and etiquette for American, French, buffet, and parade types of service. Define performance requirements, develop action plans for achievement of goals, and monitor staff performance.
Supervise the set up of function rooms to include placement of linen, silver, china, and glassware according to event order specifications; visually inspect function rooms and equipment prior to functions for cleanliness, proper inventory and set up.
Verbally communicate, in a calm, positive demeanor, during the course of function with the Culinary, Service, Beverage, Meetings and Conventions, and Engineering staffs, as well as the host to ensure timely execution of events, quality service and adherence to all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations along with corporate standards.
Education:
Any combination of education, training, or experience equivalent to graduation from college or any other combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities; High school diploma required; College degree preferred.
Experience:
3 years as Assistant Banquet Management or food and beverage supervisory experience required.
Licenses or certificates:
Ability to obtain any and all licenses and certificates; Tips, Serve Safe etc.
