QSC, LLC Hiring for Sustaining Engineer, Electrical at Costa Mesa, California Full Time

QSC is seeking an experienced and self-motivated electrical engineer to work in our Q-SYS division. Q-SYS is one of the world’s leading designers and manufacturers of networked audio, video, and control systems. This position is for the Costa Mesa, California headquarters office and is eligible for hybrid work, with significant time spent working hands-on in the QSC engineering laboratories.

The Sustaining Engineer, Electrical provides post-release design support for networked audio, video, and control products, and assists with current and future product development. These activities involve failure analysis, component selection, circuit design and simulation, PCB layout, schematic capture, and bench testing of electronic products. This position requires an advanced understanding of electronic circuits and troubleshooting involving digital, analog, and power electronics.

Base Salary Range 79,000 – 109,000

The above reflects the pay range that QSC reasonably expects to pay for this role. This pay range also depends on various factors such as job duties and requirements, relevant experience and skills and geographic location. In addition to the base salary range, QSC offers a comprehensive package including but not limited to health benefits, 401K or Roth retirement plans, generous time off and profit sharing

Essential Functions:

• Specify, qualify, and design alternate components into existing products

• Investigate and resolve complex field and production issues

• Hardware design improvements

• Design to value/cost for existing products

• Documentation of design and test work

• Work closely with software developers to integrate hardware with software

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent professional experience

• 5+ years of electrical engineering experience in a hands-on environment

• Proficient with electronics test and measurement tools (Oscilloscope, Audio Precision, etc.)

Other Skills & Qualifications:

• Excellent troubleshooting and failure analysis skills required

• Excellent through-hole and SMD soldering skills required

• Skilled with PCB layout and schematic capture tools (Cadence, Altium)

• Experience in the networked AV field is a plus

• Experience with computer architecture is a plus

• Scripting experience (C++, Python, Lua) is a plus
