Maintenance Mechanic

The Mechanic will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs necessary to support business needs and maintain equipment, machinery, and tools in good operating condition. The Mechanic will be working in many diversified capacities of maintenance, including a broad range of mechanical equipment and some minor electrical work.

Responsibilities

• Experience in interpretation of technical manuals, drawings and specifications, including layouts, blueprints and schematics

• Troubleshoots equipment using mechanical knowledge, equipment specification sheets, and manufacturer literature in order to restore to operation.

• Ability to use precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, alignment etc.) to fit bearings, align gears, shafts, couplings, belts, and set equipment to precise tolerances.

• Performs Preventative Maintenance tasks, documents findings/repairs/materials for equipment history, and executes process and safety critical jobs.

• Disassembles, cleans, inspects, repairs and reassembles equipment such as pumps, blowers, conveyors, valves, gearboxes, agitators, and other various industrial equipment.

• Measure, lay out, fabricate, and install (non-welded) piping systems including valves, supports, hangers, and brackets

• Responsible for installation, removal, and alignment of tooling

The essential functions of this role include:

• wearing steel toe shoes

• manual lifting up to 50lbs

• standing for 6 hours at one time
