• Based in Macquarie Park, NSW or Mawson Lakes, SA on a full-time basis.

• Help develop the next generation of Naval capability

Opportunities exist to develop a Maritime Unmanned Aircraft System (MUAS) capability for the RAN. This capability will enable Remote Pilots to learn and fine tune the necessary skills and expertise required to tactically employ the MUAS in a wide variety of scenarios.

This next generation Naval capability provides Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Targeting (ISR-T) to the Navy’s Major Fleet Units and Offshore Patrol Vessels. As well as working in our highly skilled and collaborative team you’ll be working with our international and domestic partners to develop a solution in a high paced Agile environment.

To support this activity, Raytheon Australia is seeking a variety of engineering skills covering software developers, systems engineers, and training staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform software design activities (including trade studies) to ensure that the architecture is compatible with the baselined product and is consistent across all subsystems and that the design will meet the system/software level performance requirements
• Assist with Software Development tasks
• Help setup/maintain the automated quality assurance environment under supervision of the team
• Assist with data analysis / analytics engineering
• Work in an Agile SCRUM team, delivering product updates in short iterations
• Work closely with other Software Developers, Engineers, Product Managers and Customer Support to ensure we develop high-quality products and systems

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or other STEM discipline with minimum 6 years relevant experience in software engineering
• Software development and scripting (preferred C++, C#, Java, Bash and/or Python) [Essential]
• Windows and Linux development [Essential]
• Understanding of Scrum / Agile software development framework and being involved in the software lifecycle [Desirable]
• Exposure to Atlassian Products [Desirable]
• Strong problem-solving skills
