Regional Director – Hematology Oncology – Southeast
Summary
The Regional Director (RD) of Hematology-Oncology will report to the National Business Director of Hematology-Oncology and be responsible for hiring, leading, developing, and retaining the Hematology Oncology Medical Specialist team in the TBD region to support the anticipated launches (if approved) of two bispecific agents for hematology oncology in two distinct disease areas. The Regional Director will also have responsibility for hiring, leading, and developing an Oncology Nurse Educator (NE). The NE is a field-based position that reports directly to the RD. The NE works closely with sales, marketing, and other cross-functional partners to deliver on-label education to targeted accounts and customers. The NE role includes delivering on-label presentations to HCPs, nurses, and Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), training/coaching APP promotional speakers, and supporting patient advocacy and patient support groups.
The RD is responsible for ensuring strong and consistent sales performance that meets or exceeds forecast and expectations relating to product goals and driving accountabilities for all results throughout the Region assigned, allowing Regeneron to have a significant presence in the Hematology Oncology market. The RD will work closely with their cross-functional partners to ensure full regional cooperation and transparency. The RD will work closely with Training and Development to ensure the appropriate development of personnel within the Region designed to continue facilitating growth in the commercial organization. The RD will accomplish this in a compliant manner with a high degree of integrity, strictly following all Regeneron policies and in compliance with all policies and procedures governing the promotion of pharmaceutical and biologic products in the US.
A Typical Day Might Look Like This:
Build and develop a high integrity, high-quality sales team, and provide overall leadership to the team.
Responsible for meeting and exceeding assigned sales objectives and ensuring action plans align to the strategic initiatives of the brand.
Lead regional sales force activities, including hiring, training, performance evaluation, and development, while ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
Ensure each employee is trained on and effectively implementing customer education.
Communicate the most current knowledge of the industry and competitor products to regional teams.
Ensure participation in industry-related trade shows, meetings, conferences, etc.
Analyze sales and customer data to ensure appropriate resources are deployed in the Region.
Allocate and manage the Region’s budget and utilization of promotional resources.
Ensure robust and consistent performance that meets or exceeds brand objectives and product sales goals while demonstrating accountabilities for all results.
Build the company’s credibility and relationships with key customers (e.g., Regional, local clinical experts, advocacy groups, etc.) and their staffs in the field of Hematology-Oncology.
Ensure the Hematology-Oncology Medical Specialists are viewed by their customers as clinical experts in the field of Hematology Oncology.
In collaboration with the HQ team, develop and execute an Incentive Compensation plan for the field team following corporate objectives and within guidelines in a compliant manner.
Partner with multiple internal stakeholders to proactively analyze and address market dynamics and trends that support brand and collaboration objectives.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of the payer environment, reimbursement, and challenges within payer markets, including government programs, managed healthcare, and evolving healthcare systems.
This Position Might Be For You If:
A bachelor’s degree is mandatory, and a Master’s degree or other advanced education/certification is a plus (A focused degree in science or clinical experience is a plus).
Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical experience with five years of sales leadership/management, of which three years must be at the Regional Director/District Manager in the field of Oncology, preferably Hematology Oncology
Experience in Biologics and buy and bill products or relevant solid experience in the Oncology field is required. Experience in hematology-oncology is a strong plus.
Proven success and positive track record of performance with high integrity as a Regional Director/District Manager in complex markets within complex systems required.
Successful record of hiring, coaching, developing, promoting, and retaining top talent within span of control.
Strong understanding of the payer environment, reimbursement, and challenges within the national/regional payer market, including government programs, managed healthcare, and evolving healthcare systems.
Proven ability and success in developing physician/customer clinical experts in a regional scope are required.
Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills; should be an effective team player who can engender credibility and confidence.
Strong ability to partner and collaborate with other internal field teams and alliance partners.
Ability to travel extensively with local and regional influence.
Demonstrated history of leading high-performance sales team.
Ability to manage and drive a region’s objectives and goals.
Strong presentation, organization, administration, and communication skills.
Experience with product launches is a plus.
Experience with working with Oncology Nurse Educators is a plus.
Experience with selling to diverse customer segments.
Understanding reimbursement challenges and opportunities of a buy and bill product required or other relevant Oncology experience considered.
Ability to analyze sales and other relevant market data.
Strategic thinker who will challenge the status quo to improve performance.
Leadership skills include motivating, mentoring, and providing professional development to their team.
