Job Description:
At Regions, the Instructional Designer supports training initiatives by designing and developing training programs, monitoring curricula, managing communications, evaluating training effectiveness, and managing projects.
Primary Responsibilities
Consults and collaborates with internal business partners to develop appropriate training
Conducts instructional analysis: determine knowledge, skills, attitudes, competencies required and gaps; assess effectiveness and efficiency of instruction per ease of student learning, knowledge transfer, and satisfaction
Serves as end-to-end project manager for assigned projects, from kickoff to close
Manages multiple projects, develops project plan, manages project timelines and deliverables, monitors and controls project progress, etc.
Works with subject matter experts to identify target audience’s training needs
Designs instructional strategy: write actionable performance/behavioral objectives, work with clients to determine appropriate learning solutions based upon established learning objectives; analyze relevant learning situations to determine appropriate training solution applying appropriate learning theories and design principles; develop criterion-based assessments and performance measures
Creates exercises, activities, and experiences that enhance the learning process
Builds supporting material/media (audio, video, simulations, role plays, games)
Develops interactive instructional deliverables and curricula and maintain existing curricula while adhering to quality standards
Manages client interactions and expectations, facilitate meetings, and escalate issues to manager as needed
Interviews subject matter experts and conducts additional research to develop instructional content
This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.
Requirements
Preferences
Master’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or similar coursework
Experience in Banking or similarly regulated industry
Two (2) years of experience with training needs assessment and/or performance consulting, with proven skill to select the most appropriate learning solutions based on learner need

Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts
Communication skill both written and verbal
Critical thinking, analytical/problem solving skills, and an aptitude to learn business applications
Demonstrates ability to communicate difficult concepts and processes using clear and simple language and visuals
Demonstrates proficiency with capture, authoring, and editing tools such as Articulate Storyline, Captivate, and Camtasia

Additional Job Description
The Instructional Designer will partner with business sponsors/stakeholders to successfully identify and address the learning needs of Regions Enterprise Support associates. Learning solutions may include:

Additional Preferences:
Solid experience with software tools including Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Captivate, and Articulate 360
Work independently with minimal supervision
Manage multiple projects and deliver high quality work within project timelines
Articulate and effective communicator (written, verbal, non‐verbal) who can act independently as a conduit for information among departmental managers, internal project teams, business units, and/or vendors
This position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate’s qualifications and relevant experience.
