Our Global Commercial Strategy team is responsible for leading the development of Elsevier’s Clinical Solutions global market strategy and opportunity roadmap. As a team, we are responsible for aligning priorities across teams in all geographies we serve (spread across more than 50 countries). We take a long-term strategic view on how to achieve success and deliver the greatest value for the customers that we serve. This newly formed team works with stakeholder groups such as Sales, Product, Digital Content, Informatics and Technology. We also serve as the key interface for local Commercial Execution teams to support our overall goals. About the Role
The Director, Strategic Partnerships will manage and grow specific partner relationships which are important to the successful execution of the Clinical Solutions strategy. These organizations may be integration partners and / or value-added resellers of Clinical Solutions products. The Director will work closely with the stakeholders mentioned above to create and then execute on market plans and will educate the organization on the value that these partners can deliver. This will ultimately allow our Clinical Solutions team to effectively target and grow revenue within the markets we serve.
The Clinical Solutions Division of Elsevier uses its industry-leading intellectual property and content to create tools to support professionals across the care continuum. These products aid in disease management, medication error reductions, workflow improvements, effective patient management and economic analysis and cost control. The Clinical Solutions Division serves a variety of customer markets, including but not limited to Healthcare Providers (Hospitals & Healthcare Systems), Healthcare Information Technology (HIT) Vendors & National Retail Pharmacy Chains.
Responsibilities
Working with strategic partners to execute the Clinical Solutions go to market strategy.
Educating the Clinical Solutions division on activity, trends and the strategy of these partners to ensure mutual understanding and alignment.
Fostering and nurturing executive relationships between the organizations to establish and maintain ongoing communication and collaboration.
Driving revenue growth of Elsevier’s Clinical Solutions portfolio of solutions.
Developing and executing strategic account business plans, including identification and prioritization of key opportunities and action plans necessary to close high-value business.
Building strong partner relationships, at all levels of the organization, that are necessary to identify the decision makers and understand the decision-making process at each customer opportunity.
Collaborating with Marketing and Commercial Leads on channel specific materials to support sales training, sales activity, and coordination of User Group Meetings
Ensuring compliance with contractual terms, including timely reporting as applicable.
Requirements
Extensive experience developing complex partnerships in the fields of Healthcare IT, Medical Informatics or Clinical Decision Support.
In-depth understanding of business processes of leading EHR vendors such as Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, MEDITECH; including rolodex of contacts.
Mature project management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at one time in an organized and articulate fashion.
Proven track record in negotiating complex agreements.
Excellent interpersonal communication and listening skills.
Proven ability to present with a high degree of comfort and credibility.
Problem solving, analytics, and negotiation skills.
Highly organized, strong attention to detail, and sense of urgency and accountability.
Ability to meet travel requirements of the position, estimated at 20% for all customer appointments, trade shows and company meetings.
Position can be based out of any major metropolitan area with easy access to a major airport
Bachelor’s degree; graduate technical, clinical degree or MBA a plus.
