One Family.PURPOSE STATEMENT Rich’s currently has a great opportunity for a R&D Engineering Co-op for spring/summer 2024. This position is in the Research and Development department, located in Buffalo, New York. The product category of concentration is the Emulsion Business Unit (EBU).KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES The primary function of this position is to support and collaborate with the Global Technology Team in their project work. Projects range from low to high complexity. In this job, the student will utilize their fundamental engineering and food science skills to collaborate with the team to evaluate and develop process and ingredient solutions for the emulsions product category. The main activities undertaken in this position will be conducted in the Rich’s R&D laboratory and pilot plant. The successful candidate will develop, document and validate product/process interactions in collaboration with scientists and engineers. They will conduct product testing, process development process documentation and data analysis in support of our Global business. This opportunity is available to a student who wants to make a difference while taking on new challenges and gaining a practical knowledge of engineering and food science through hands-on experience in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial Engineering.Education Requirements: Sophomore, Junior, or Senior year or Master’s based on credit hoursMinimum GPA 3.0; 3.5 is preferredComputer Skills: PC/Internet skills, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MiniTab and the ability to create flow diagrams and spreadsheetsOther Requirements: Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills, along with time management and organizational skillsCOMPENSATIONIn accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates (“Rich’s”), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role.
