Modern Homes Ireland (MHI) are currently recruiting for a General Manager to join their team in Ballyjamesduff, Co Cavan. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced General Manager from a construction or manufacturing background, to join a dynamic and fast paced environment.

MHI have developed, tested and successfully deployed an innovative and industry changing offsite volumetric build process that now serves the residential construction sector in Ireland.

Your mission

Environment, Health and Safety orientated

Demonstrable experience and exposure to; finance, commercial (costings and legal contracts), manufacturing, engineering, quality, complex supply chains

Construction experience a distinct advantage, but not essential

Profit and Loss ownership

Key Performance Indicator driven;

Client centric – On time In Full (OTIF) delivery focused

Plan Do Check Act (PDCA) approach

Conformance to Plan (central KPI) encompassing;

production planning

production efficiencies

quality and output

cost control

waste reduction

Working autonomously within a corporate matrix framework

Public and Private, Service Level Agreement (SLA) contract experience

Innovative and continuous improvement (lean) background

Overseeing the day to day operations of modular construction managing supply chains

Growing and developing new and emerging products to market (Business Development/Marketing)

Who are we looking for?

Experienced General Manager – multi faceted business leader with the ability to lead, direct and empower

Ideally 10 years’ experience at Senior Management level

Natural engaging leader

Experience of leading a manufacturing business

Commercially astute with strong financial acumen

Strong and decisive leader when needed yet engendering and encouraging team inclusivity

Motivational, empowering and mentor management style – people orientated

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and provide focused direction

Stoical and calm under pressure

Ability to delegate

Entrepreneurial in character

Strategic thinker – new markets new products

Willingness to challenge the norms

Ideally from a manufacturing background (engineering/heavy industry)

Experience in Lean/streamlined processes with knowledge of digital/automation continuous improvement implementation

The founders are career construction professionals who recognised the need to improve the technologies within the industry and satisfy growing market demand.

They conducted in-depth research in offsite volumetric manufacturing facilities around the world, analysing systems in the UK, North America and Central Europe, learning about the advantages and faults of each part of the processes while developing their own innovative ‘best in class’ model process in a large factory-controlled facility in Cavan, investing heavily in technology, people and processes.
