Ryan Looking for Operations Manager at Leeston, Canterbury, New Zealand Full Time

You will lead, coach, and support the harvest and processing teams. Overseeing the day-to-day harvest of organic leaf products and manufacturing process. You will resolve any operational issues in real-time, to ensure the manufacturing operations of the business continue without interruption and best practice is followed.

Responsibilities

• Manage the manufacturing process
• Measure and test harvest crops for optimum goodness
• Assist in harvesting the leaf crops (if required)
• Lead and support teams and drive performance development
• Create rosters and schedules for people, facilities, and equipment
• Manage compliance with company policies and procedures
• Deliver manufacturing production targets
• Maintain a high level of health and safety standards at all times
• Monitor budgets and track output
• Focus on continuous improvement

Skills and experience

• Proven experience as a production manager, preferably in a processing plant
• Farming background, experience with harvesting
• Committed to building strong relationships with management, teams and stakeholders
• Exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to work collaboratively and suggest improvements
• Flexibility to manage a 24/7/365 processing plant
• Strong computer skills
