AccentCare is seeking a Music Therapist to join our team of professionals. We make a difference every day to patients and families coping with end of life illness in creating a center of excellence in hospice care.
The Music Therapist performs as a member of the hospice interdisciplinary team, the Music Therapist provides music therapy consultations and services to the patient and/or family in accordance with the interdisciplinary plan of care while following all hospice policies and procedures. Supports the business development activities of the organization. Music Therapists provide bereavement counseling to family members as identified.
Bachelor’s Degree in Music with a concentration in Music Therapy and/or Music Therapy from an American Music Therapy Association (AMTA) approved university (or undergraduate equivalency program approved by AMTA).
Board Certified as a Music Therapist (MT-BC) by the Certification Board for Music Therapy (CBMT).
Hospice and Palliative Care Music Therapist advanced credential preferred.
Previous experience with terminally ill patients/families is highly desirable.
Must have reliable automobile, valid driver’s license and the minimum state required liability auto insurance.
Demonstrates commitment to the AccentCare philosophy of care, values, mission statement and organization culture.
Qualifications for state-specific requirements above AccentCare minimum education standards are as follows:
GA: Must be licensed by the state through the Georgia Professional Licensing Board, holding a LPMT (Licensed Professional Music Therapist).
MD: Must be licensed by the state through the State Board of Examiners, begins 1/1/2022.
NJ: Must be licensed by the state through the State Board of Creative Arts and Activities Therapies, currently in finalization.
NV: Must be licensed by the state through the Nevada State Health Division, Bureau of Health Care Quality and Compliance, holding a LPMT (Licensed Professional Music Therapist).
OR: Must be licensed by the state through the Oregon Health Licensing Office, holding a MT-T.
Additional Qualifications for Level II Music Therapist:
2 years of full-time experience as a Music Therapist in a Healthcare setting.
Must hold the highest level of licensure within the state, if applicable.
Approved AMTA Intern Supervisor status.
Advanced HPMT certification status.
Additional Qualifications for Level III Music Therapist:
5 years of full-time experience as a Music Therapist in a Healthcare setting.
Master’s Degree in Music Therapy or Counseling Equivalent field.
Must hold the highest level of licensure within the state, if applicable.
Approved AMTA Intern Supervisor status.
Advanced HPMT certification status.
Scheduled Hours: PRN
