Our Security Officers will have the duty of:

• Manning the University; Library and Student Accommodation.
• Managing the gatehouse
• Operating CCTV
• Issuing visitor cards
• Building rapport with students, visitors and staff.
• Supporting students who have locked themselves out, re-gain access to their rooms.
• Escorting visitors across the site when needed.
• Deterring any suspicious or threatening behaviour
• Managing any threatening behaviour until the arrival of the police or any other external agency.
• Monitoring loss and waste
• Reporting any incidences.
• Patrolling

Essential Skills

Requirements of Security Officer:

• Excellent customer service and people skills
• Excellent organisational skills and time management
• Ability to stay alert during unsociable hours
• SIA License
• 5-year checkable employment history
