Production Manager (Assembly/Precision/Electronics)

Responsibilities

• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, equipment & material to achieve optimum shop floor efficiency and effectiveness.
• Provide cost reduction analysis on all current products to determine the most economical method of manufacturing (make recommendation regarding make-versus-buy decision).
• Work closely with Planning, logistics & Process Engineering on factory loading & deliveries schedules to ensure on- time deliveries. Study on the capacity and capability of the factory for determination of manpower, machines & equipment requirement and make necessary recommendation if there are additional resources requirement.
• Plan and recommend annual budgeting on workload, expenses, and headcounts requirement, review & manage monthly Departmental expenses within budget.
• Drive team to ensure compliance with ISO standard, organization Workplace Safety and Health policies and environmental management systems (EMS)
• Generate new ideas to the processes and flow with the idea of reductions on total manufacturing cost and the improvement in product quality.
• Work closely with the Material Groups to ensure no material supply disruption to the pre- determined schedule
• Monitor and review optimum Work-in-progress in the shop floor and reduce unnecessary scrap due to operators and process.
• Develop plan to build up production flexibility to support production variant switch
• Monitor and review production lines quality standard and work with related Departments for support and corrective action Plans for quality improvement.
• Participate in the New Product Introduction (NPI) and to make necessary recommendation to ease production flow.
• Develop operation road mapping processes.
• Lead team’s work activities to develop operational plans to achieve organizational goals.
• Support employees to develop their skills and facilitating learning opportunities and coaching junior management employees in alignment to business needs.

Requirements

• Min 4 years working experience in a low volume, high mix manufacturing environment.
• Experience in driving operational excellence through lean manufacturing techniques
• Possess SAP or related ERP system
• Experience in Project Management
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interface at all levels including management and staff personnel both internally and externally.
