SkipTheDishes has a newly created opportunity to contribute to the Total Reward offerings for our most important asset – our people! As an integral part of the Total Rewards team, the Total Rewards/ Benefits Specialist is responsible for ensuring the highest level of service delivery for our employee benefits packages. This position will work as part of a team to administer all benefit and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability programs. This role is critical to the success of our key objective – Becoming a Great Place to Work!
What’s On Your Plate:
Responsible for administering the employee benefit and retirement programs
Ensuring the accuracy of all employee data transmitted to benefit providers and that employee eligibility data is sent timely and accurately
Proactively communicate with employees on enrolment eligibility
Assist with employee benefit enrollment and process life status changes with carriers
Act as the point of contact for employee questions via the Total Rewards email
Administer disability and leave-of absence requests, acting as liaison between employee and plan sponsor
Prepare monthly budgeting reports for Finance team
Draft new benefit policies or update existing policies as needed
Partner with internal stakeholders such as the Payroll and People Operations teams to ensure ease of administration of benefit programs to employees
Administer vacation programs (carryforward, service-based changes, etc.)
May be asked to assist with compensation-related programs or inquiries
Create employee communications throughout the year (articles on the Skip intranet, newsletter, etc.)
Recipe For Success:
Minimum five years of experience in a benefits administration
Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) designation is strongly preferred
Experience working with benefit carriers and plan sponsors
Strong working knowledge of applicable benefits and compensation standards and legislation
Proficiency in Google Suite and Microsoft Office suite is helpful
Knowledge of Dayforce, Workday or other HRIS systems is strongly preferred
Must be adept in employee relations and stakeholder management
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work both independently and with teams.
