Position Overview

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Restaurant Accountant is a part-time position requiring knowledge of accounting concepts, practices and procedures. This is a multi-unit restaurant company with operations in four states. As a qualified professional, this position performs routine accounting functions but can also solve problems as they arise. The Restaurant Accountant is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of accounting data and financial statements. This position communicates well with operations, coworkers and management, and provides considerable value to the restaurant operators. Executes and follows policies and procedures as outlined by management. The ideal candidate will be resourceful and have excellent communication skills. Responsibilities

• Prepares, reviews, assists with, and/or approves journal entries, general ledger accounts and transactions, expense reports, and invoices.
• Prepares and analyzes financial statements and monthly reports.
• Reviews and analyzes restaurant unit projections vs. actual performance. Provides explanation/corrections for any variances.
• Prepares and analyzes monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
• Reviews and maintains general ledger accounts.
• Generates reports to analyze margin trends.
• Maintains appropriate records for area(s) of responsibility.
• Assists with compliance by providing records and supporting schedules.
• Interacts with staff and customers to research and resolve problems.
• Responds to questions or requests for information from executive management, unit level manager, or other internal staff on a regular basis.
• Completes additional projects as assigned.
