WHO ARE YOU?

You’re a driven, passionate, and experienced back-end engineer Cloud Engineer specialising in AWS, who believes that accessible and impactful digital tools will be key to realising a generational change in Australia’s mental health, especially for kids.

As a Cloud Engineer at Smiling Mind, you’ll build on a tech-stack that supports our mission and is used by over 4 million children, young people, teachers, and adults across Australia, and beyond.

You will have a genuine passion for public and population health, and an enthusiasm for implementing digital mental health solutions that support positive outcomes.

Please note, this role is a Fixed-Term Contract until 31st December 2023.

RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

• Contributing to the design, development, implementation, maintenance, and monitoring of the core Smiling Mind software cloud infrastructure
• Assisting in the development and implementation of deployment pipelines
• Migrating existing infrastructure to infrastructure as code (IaC)
• Anticipating, identifying, diagnosing, and resolving performance issues both in testing and in production
• Integrating with cloud and 3rd party services and clients
• Identifying areas of risk and implementing security best practices
• Documenting processes, system design and architecture
• Provide some support to our back and front developers with application development
• Identify ideas to improve system performance and provide recommendations for development and technologies

YOU’VE GOT:

• 3+ years AWS engineering
• Proficiency working with database technologies, especially MySQL
• Experience integrating with 3rd party APIs
• A natural flair for implementing well designed architecture
• A commitment to accessible documentation
• A Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related discipline
• AWS certification will be highly regarded

BONUS POINTS FOR:

• Some experience working with node.js and .NET stacks
• Experience with GCP
