We are seeking someone to co-ordinate and support learners (as identified) undertaking placements as part of their Higher Education Course (and possibly other courses) as assigned by the Programme Co-ordinator/Section Head. You will be required to assess students as appropriate by formal or informal methods as required. You will also be required to contribute to the pastoral and welfare systems provided for students. You will liaise with employers and arrange work placements, including Health & Safety visits to employers’ premises. You will continue personal development in the areas of both subject knowledge and placement procedures, develop and maintain good working relationships with external and internal customers, undertake such duties as may reasonably be required commensurate with grade at initial place of work or at other locations in the College “catchment” area.
You will be required to have GCSE level qualifications or equivalent (Grade C/or Grade 4 or above in English and maths), evidence of continued professional and personal development, if not already held, to attain a teaching qualification within 3 years. You will also need to have experience of teaching/training, experience of assessing, evidence of recent industrial experience, relevant subject knowledge, good organisational/communication skills, good inter-personal skills & persuader and a good motivator.
